 Society's Expectations & Teacher Professionalism

In this topic, I have learned about the society's expectations towards teacher and their professionalism. Society has a high expectations towards the members of the professions. Teacher play a critical role in each school community as they contribute to the success of students and the school itself. The society's expectations from teachers and their professionalism are teacher as an educator expected to have advanced knowledge and skills, high academic and ethical standards. They also expected the teacher to promote student's health and well-being in school. For example, teachers are not just teaching in the class but concern the condition of their students. As being said, these are also can be some of the challenges that teachers face over time. Thus, teacher should be prepared and professional in their professionalism from different aspects such as character, subject knowledge and pedagogical knowledge, commitment to change and continuous improvement, and obligations and working relationships beyond the classsroom.
