WEEK 15 (Topic 14)

 Current Issues

In the last week of our class, the most interesting topic were discussed which is the current social issues in society. It is undeniable that social ills have always happen everywhere and anytime includes social problems among children. For examples, school bullying, truancy, substance abuse and mental health issues. The other issues related to education also like school vandalism, racism in the classroom and teen parenting. The factor contributing to social ills is it can be from individual itself, they maybe lack of Islamic teaching values and adolescent lifestyle. From family factor, there is conflict between family members and the failure of parenting. From peer influence and peer pressure, it can be either positive and negative influence and from technology (social media), can cultivate aggressive behavior among youth. To overcome and prevented these social ills, individual, family, education and government can hand on their hands to help. It can be conclude that parents and teachers involvement in children's schooling is really important for the education process itself, as well as their well-being. Furthermore, society also need to work together to create an environment that is caring for the well-being of its member to prevent the social ills and current issues that is happening.
